Dancer in the Smouldering Wind
|
|
Severing the limbs of time from the ground You're dancing thrills the eyes you've found Glaring fixed to every turn As in the solid air you burn Trussed in tension your falcon soars Grasping our nerves in vicious claws Through our stubborn way you course Stretched eye beams by spinning torso In grand and struggling gesture caught You fight through swamps of inner thought Bursting through the veils of wrath Tearing reams of coiling cloth This persuasive menacing dance Freed this prisoner of romance To briefly loose his heavy chains Anguish forged by human pains Down to the dungeon of despair Weaving in your tangled care Words of freedom in your body frail Beguiling demons with your smile And there you shared my silent kiss In the dusk of heavy mist Pinned like Gulliver to the ground You nimbly danced upon my frown Embracing fear in a cloud of unknowing Determined screaming postures flowing Dragged my soul across the stage In your smouldering gusts of rage Richard Field August 2004 |
